Heavey Horse Farms is located in Fairbanks, Alaska and offers summer horse trail rides and 5 and 7 day horse pack trips in the Alaska Range Mountains south of Fairbanks. Winter activities include Dog Mushing with Dog Gone Dog Tours.


Visit the Heavy Horse Farm just minutes from downtown Fairbanks for a one, two or three hour saddle horse trail ride. All ages are welcome.

  • 12 years & up are invited to take a fully guided ride
  • Youngsters 12 and under can enjoy a pony ride
  • Trail rides begin at 11 AM daily
    • 1hr ride =$55
    • 2 hr ride = $80
    • 3hr ride = $125
    • All day = $175

Directions to Heavy Horse Farm:

Head North from Fairbanks towards Fox on the Steese Highway. Approximately 3 miles North of Fairbanks you will see an exit ramp for Chena Hot Springs Road. Take a right at that exit and follow CHSR for about 3.5 miles. You will pass a school to the left and then a bunch of fields before you see the road sign on the left for Juniper Road.

Once you get onto the gravel Juniper Rd., you simply need to follow the signs along the road to Heavy Horse Farm. 2 wheel drive vehicles are fine. Call 457-3601 if you have any questions or need further directions.
